About Vigod Labs
Small software, made by hand.
One workshop. A handful of tools. No noise.
The workshop
Vigod Labs is the independent workshop of Marc Vigod — a single developer who builds and ships every app personally. There is no team, no VC backing, no growth roadmap pinned to a wall. Just a Mac, a compiler, and a stubborn preference for software that behaves itself.
The name is deliberately small. "Labs" implies experimentation, and that is exactly the spirit here: each app starts as a question ("why isn't this already simple?") and ends only when the answer is genuinely satisfying.
The philosophy
Every Vigod Labs app is built around the same three constraints:
- Do one thing exceptionally well. Scope creep is the enemy of clarity. A focused tool is faster to learn, faster to trust, and far less likely to break when macOS updates.
- Respect your machine. Native code, minimal memory, no background daemons phoning home. Your Mac should feel faster after installing an app, not slower.
- Respect your attention. No subscriptions nudging you to upgrade. No onboarding flows that assume you are confused. No telemetry collecting data you didn't agree to share. Install it, use it, forget it's there.
No accounts, no telemetry, no nonsense — that is not marketing copy. It is a constraint that shapes every decision from the first commit.
Who built this
Marc Vigod is a developer based in New Jersey with thirty years of experience across web and software development. Questions, bug reports, and honest feedback are always welcome at marc@vlminc.net. There is no support ticket system — just an inbox that gets read.
The apps
Four tools, one standard
Each app is small by design. One job, done well, with nothing you didn't ask for.
Velocity
Speed control for every video and audio element on the web — 0.05× precision, per-site memory, no trackers.
JellyBar
Reorder, hide, and space your menu-bar icons — and the layout survives every reboot.
CaffeineTimer
Keep your Mac awake for exactly as long as you need, then let it rest. That's it.
Orbit Launcher
A radial launcher that blooms around your cursor on ⌥Space — the most satisfying way to open an app on a Mac.
